20th August - 17th September (4 weeks) - Developing A Compassionate Heart

During this course we will learn exactly what compassion is, how we can increase the compassion already within us and how this beautiful, powerful mind can transform our life for the better.

'Of all virtuous minds, compassion is supreme.'
- Transform your Life by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

24th September- 15th October (5 weeks) - A Friend Of The World

These classes will focus on how we can put our compassionate intention into practice in our daily lives and thus bring great benefit to the world.

Sat 5 July 10am-1pm - Guarding the mind. with Kelsang Dreemay at Amitabha Centre in Bristol.

'Therefore, I will guard my mind well
And protect it from what is inappropriate.
Without the discipline of guarding the mind,
What is the use of many other disciplines?'
- Shantideva

The heart of Buddha's teachings is the ability to understand and control our mind. On this morning course, we will look at specific techniques to guard our mind from distractions that cause delusions and negative behaviour to arise. Our mind can then remain peaceful and subdued at all times, and our formal meditation becomes more focused and productive.
This course is aimed primarily at those with some experience of Buddhist teachings and meditation.

Sun 20 July 2pm-5pm - Forget stress - find tranquility with Becky Gilbank at Amitabha Centre in Bristol.

In our busy modern world it seems that stress comes naturally whilst peace and tranquility elude us. By learning to meditate we can reverse this situation and create an inner calm.

'So much of the stress and tension we normally experience comes from our mind....Just by doing breathing meditation for ten or fifteen minutes a day we shall be able to reduce this stress....and many of our usual problems will fall away.'
- Transform your Life by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
